Japanese and English Pokémon cards are different products with different economics. Here's how to choose.
Japanese: cheaper to rip, sharper print
Japanese sealed is usually cheaper per pack, print quality is excellent, and special sets often have strong pull rates. Great for ripping value and for collectors who want the original art.

English: bigger resale market, wider demand
English cards have the larger Western buyer pool, so liquidity and resale demand are deeper — generally the better choice for investment and easy reselling.
